About

the makers

Birgit Wenz had the idea for the “Kids’ Easy Cup Cookbook” while on maternity leave.

She is a kindergarten teacher and the mother of two sons, and teaching nutrition and encouraging independence are very important to her both personally and professionally.

For more than ten years, Birgit Wenz has been taking care of pre-school aged children, and has often spent time preparing new recipes and baked goods. She hopes that this concept will excite not just kindergartens, but also families. In the process, she’s supported by her husband Stefan Wenz, who takes care of distribution and marketing.

Together, they’re an unbeatable team!

The Lion’s Den

When looking for an investor for the “Kids’ Easy Cup Cookbook,” Birgit Wenz took a bold step and presented her children’s baking book on the investment show, “The Lion’s Den,” (German title: „Die Höhle der Löwen”) on the German station VOX. The “Lion’s Den” format is the German version of the US American variant, “Shark Tank” and the international format, “Dragons’ Den.”

On the show, inventors and founders have the unique opportunity to present their innovative business ideas in front of wealthy investors and to convince them to invest in their startup and support them professionally with their knowledge and experience.

Birgit Wenz made the most of her opportunity, and was able to convince the entrepreneurs, particularly the investor Ralf Dümmel, of the strength of her concept – a concept for which bakers big and small have long been waiting!
